Cyberpunk Edgerunners' Lucy Joins Guilty Gear Strive's Season 4 Roster in a Historic First for the Series

Guilty Gear Strive is breaking new ground with an unexpected addition to its roster. It's the first time in the series' history that a guest character is making an appearance, and this choice is nothing short of spectacular.

Lucy, a beloved character from the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime, will join the game in 2025 as the concluding character in Season Pass 4. The announcement was made at EVO 2024, specifying her arrival in 'Summer 2025,' which is likely between June and September. Prior to Lucy's debut, Season 4 will introduce returning favorites Dizzy and Venom, along with Unika, a fresh face from the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime.

Season 4 officially begins today (July 22) featuring balance adjustments and a premium character color pack. In the future, players can look forward to a new 3v3 team battle mode, additional character colors, and two new stages set to arrive in the next year.

Despite the Season 4 announcements leaking ahead of time on the developer Arc System Works' official channels, the lineup of characters is undeniably thrilling. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Dizzy and Venom since the game's release in 2021, making their comeback particularly gratifying.

The most notable addition, however, is Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners. As a prominent character in the popular Netflix anime, Lucy quickly captured the hearts of many. Her announcement for Guilty Gear Strive is a delightful surprise, and she seems like a perfect fit for the game's universe.

It's still unclear whether Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has any related content planned for its open-world RPG, or if there is a specific release date for Lucy's inclusion.
