Dead Space 4: Is a Sequel on its Way?

The original Dead Space trilogy was a huge success in the gaming world, and with the recent remake of the first installment, fans are wondering what EA Motive has planned for the series. While there have been some clues left from the remake that hint towards a possible remake of the second and third games, composer Trevor Gureckis believes that the studio should take the series in a different direction and create Dead Space 4.

Gureckis recently expressed his opinion in an interview for PCGamesN, stating that the remake of the first game was enough to “refresh everyone’s minds”, so pushing the series forward to Dead Space 4 would be more meaningful. He believes that this would help the franchise stay relevant and that people would be “on board” with the concept.

EA Motive has kept silent on their exact plans for the series, but Gureckis’s idea of creating a sequel instead of remaking the other two games seems like an interesting option. The ending of Dead Space 3 also left some challenges that could be touched upon in a sequel. It also leaves a lot of space for the creators of the game to add a new story, new mechanics, and designs, something that a remake wouldn't be able to do.

All in all, the Dead Space series has had a huge success, and everyone is interested in what EA Motive will do with the iconic brand. While remaking the other two games can also be a fun idea, creating Dead Space 4 seems like a more natural progression for the franchise. It will be exciting to see what the studio will come up with, and hopefully, we will get to explore the universe of Isaac Clarke again.
