Epic Games Launches Self-Publishing Tools, Criticizes Steam

Epic Games has recently announced an exciting new venture: the Epic Games Store will now allow users to create their own games and self-publish them. This is a major move for Epic Games, as it is going up against industry giant Steam, which has long been the go-to platform for game developers.

With this move, Epic Games is hoping to create a more open and independent gaming environment, while also taking a shot at Steam's current policies.

The Epic Games Store's self-publishing requirements are notably different from Steam's. Whereas Steam requires developers to adhere to certain guidelines, Epic Games is allowing developers to make whatever they want, with two exceptions.

The first is that no pornographic content is allowed, and the second is that if a developer is creating a multiplayer title, it must be playable on other PC stores.

Epic Games has also been vocal about criticizing Steam's policies and practices. Specifically, Epic Games has stated that Steam's revenue-sharing model is unfair, with developers receiving only a fraction of the profits from their games. Furthermore, Epic Games has accused Steam of anti-competitive practices by blocking developers from using Epic Games Store's services.

Epic Games has gone to great lengths to make the Epic Games Store more open and accessible. For example, Epic Games has recently announced that it will waive the revenue-sharing requirement for developers who bring their games to the Epic Games Store. This has been seen as a major win for developers, as they will now be able to keep more of their profits.

With its latest move, Epic Games is hoping to create a more open and independent gaming environment. This move has been seen as Epic Games' latest attempt to challenge Steam's dominance in the gaming industry.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of this move will be, but it is clear that Epic Games is serious about creating a more open and accessible gaming environment.
