Recently, a significant leak from datamine sources indicated that the final chapter of the Remake Trilogy, known as Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, might feature several optional add-ons according to listings on the Epic Games Store. Although many of these supplements appear to center on cosmetic enhancements, some listings hinted at more extensive expansions to the core game, prompting renewed discussion about the game’s structure.

This led to questions over whether Revelation’s primary storyline would conclude in the base game or if it would leave elements open for continuation through later releases. When asked about this aspect during an interview with Automaton, the game director confirmed that the main narrative will reach its conclusion within the game itself.

The director stated that the main story is designed to be self-contained within the initial release. He emphasized a strong commitment to finalizing the series with FFVII Revelation and affirmed that development is focused on ensuring a comprehensive conclusion within the primary game.

He further explained that if any additional downloadable content were to be released, it would likely take the form of a spin-off focused on one specific character, exploring untold aspects of their story—similar to the previous spin-off episode featuring Yuffie in FF7R Episode Intermission. This approach appears to resonate with what many fans are hoping for.

Expanding on the possibility of extra content, the director mentioned that he senses high expectations for the franchise and that there is a strong desire among fans for further adventures. However, he also noted that none of the plans for supplementary content have been firmly established yet.
