Playstation Is Streamlining The Process For Welcoming Peers To Join In Gaming Sessions
- May 02, 2024
While rallying companions for gaming sessions on Xbox platforms is relatively smooth and intuitive, it could be clearer that the procedure feels more cumbersome on PlayStation. Luckily, PlayStation is making strides in simplifying this experience and has recently unveiled plans for an enhanced invitation system slated for release in the coming months.
This revamped system will enable players to create a passkey as a link or QR code, which can be shared with cohorts, allowing for swift game entry. This feature will be compatible with both the PS5 consoles and the PlayStation App, offering the convenience of sharing the passkey via various social media platforms and communication services for widespread reach. A bonus is that PlayStation Network friendships are not a prerequisite to utilize this feature.
This novel invitation mechanism is designed to augment the current invitation options on PlayStation. As it is an innovative addition, Sony acknowledges that many games will require updates to become compatible with the new system.
Furthermore, there is anticipation for a comparable feature that streamlines the process of sharing one's PlayStation Network account information via messages or social networks, thereby facilitating the expansion of one's social circle and buddy list. A specific launch date for these promising features has yet to be set in stone.
