Thunderbolts: A Gritty, Character-Driven Take on the Marvel Universe

Following the recent release of Captain America: Brave New World, excitement around the Marvel universe continues to build with the upcoming film Thunderbolts. This feature presents a diverse array of characters, each possessing modest abilities compared to the more powerful figures in the franchise, as they embark on a mission to confront Sentry.

Due to its distinctive tone, Florence Pugh feels that this film differentiates itself from other Marvel titles. She shared with Empire that Thunderbolts captures the essence of a gritty, independent film reminiscent of A24's style, presenting itself as an intriguing assassin narrative infused with superhero elements.

Pugh also hinted at the character of Bob, portrayed by Lewis Pullman. She remarked that he is experiencing challenges similar to those of the other characters. Yelena, played by Pugh, sees reflections of her own struggles in him. She has always had a nurturing instinct and feels a connection to Bob, wanting to care for him due to his apparent ineptitude.

Thunderbolts is scheduled to release in cinemas this May 2nd, drawing viewers into its unique blend of humor and action as this eclectic team navigates complex dynamics and personal struggles.
