After a Week of Testing, the Sims 5 Got a Pirated Version

The long-awaited 5th part of the Sims universe was announced just a few weeks ago. And although its official release has not yet taken place and testing started on October 25, piracy has already reached this game. According to information from a verified source from Insider Gaming, it became known that The Sims 5 has already been hacked.

This is a rare case, since usually such incidents are possible after the official release, and in this case, even the testing itself has recently started. Presumably, the opportunity for hacking appeared thanks to playtesting tokens. So, hackers managed to generate access tokens using test tokens. Also, the hackers showcased their accomplishments with a gameplay show that clearly shows that they are not affiliated with EA servers.

Thus, the hack itself was not a difficult task for criminals. This is also due to the fact that EA is currently testing Sims 5 in Unreal Engine 5, and because of the preparatory phase, it does not have security and encryption protocols. So far, the attackers have not distributed a pirated version with codes on the Internet, and it is not known whether they will do so in the future.

In view of all this news, fans are very interested in how soon they will be able to purchase a fifth installment of the Sims. If the developers of The Sims 5 are to be believed, it will be a new step in the previously familiar universe, which will rethink the old Sims and give an amazing gaming experience. However, the exact timing of the release has not yet been announced, and the only thing that remains is to wait for information from the official representatives of the company.

What do you expect from the fifth part of The Sims game? Can piracy affect EA's Sims 5 revenue? Please share your thoughts below.
