Fall Guys Going Free-to-Play in June

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is one of the most iconic indie games that appeared in recent years. First, it was sold for the initial price of $19.99. Now, the game is going free-to-play, which is good news for those eager to try and not so good for those already owning it who might feel deceived. The developers, though, know how to leave everyone satisfied.

If you have never played that funny Battle Royale game about egg-shaped characters going through various trials, races, destruction, and stuff, you can just wait until June 21 and install it for free. Extra content, though, will remain paid. Like in more serious BR games, it will include various outfits and customization elements that don’t directly influence characters’ abilities but make your Fall Guy special.

Along with this, Fall Guys restarts its season system, so the upcoming one will be Season 1. Those who owned a paid version of the game will receive a Battle Pass for the new season for free, along with the Legacy Pack. The pack will include a nickname, a nameplate (or a banner), the Regal costume, the Veggie Dog costume, and the Feisty Dwarf costume. A decent pack, though there is much more content one might like.

There are some other changes as well that take place along with the changing model. First, the game ultimately migrates from Steam to Epic Games Store (though the players who have bought their version on Steam will be still able to play). On June 21, the migration will be finalized. Second, on the same day, Fall Guys will arrive on Nintendo Switch and Xbox for the first time.

Have you been appreciating Fall Guys all these two years? If not, will you try it now that the game is becoming free-to-play? Is it for the better or for the worse? And how do you think it will perform on new platforms? Share your opinion with us in the comments!
