SEGA completes the acquisition of mobile game colossus, Rovio

Rovio has now become a part of the Sega Group and the company has released a statement outlining its future plans following the merger. The goal is to leverage Rovio's expertise in the live-service mobile games market to introduce both existing and new Sega titles to the high-potential global mobile games market.

In addition, Sega revealed that Rovio intends to venture "beyond" mobile game development and that it fully intends to support Rovio in this new direction. Sega commits to enable this expansion process by utilizing its resources, as Rovio seeks to broaden its platform beyond just mobile games.
