The Sims 4: What Can Be Improved after the Hairstyle Update

The Sims 4 is a phenomenon of a game, one getting not obsolete but better with years, with each update, bigger or smaller. The recent Hairstyle update was warmly received by critics and players, but, knowing Maxis, we can never be sure about what’s next. So, what can be next? How can you customize your sims in ways that haven’t been implemented yet?

The first idea for a new update is a further development of hairstyles. Why just two colors? Take a walk in the street and see people with all the colors of the rainbow on their heads, regardless of age or gender. Why cannot we color our Sims the way we can? A traditional color wheel will solve the problem and provide us with complete freedom.

If we mentioned genders, it makes more sense to add more options for male characters’ appearance. Exquisite hairstyles are not exclusively female like it was put in the update, and if your character in The Sims 4 is male, he should have more options for his hair as well, from Bruce Willis to Timothée Chalamet. And this regards more than their haircuts: what about mustaches and more beard options? After all, it may be necessary just to recreate your own or your friend or idol’s appearance.

These are but a few ideas of how to improve the Hairstyle update not going beyond dealing with hair. But there is more to life than this. Well, the implementation of custom pronouns is just in that trend of customization beyond tradition, but there is more (if you have any doubt about it, just take a look at what the modding community keeps delivering). Life simulators are recreating real life, and the real-life is inexhaustible. So are the possibilities of upgrading and updating our experience in The Sims 4.
