YouTube Arms Creators with “Search Insights”
- Apr 25, 2022
How does a YouTuber build a strategy for success? By analyzing the reaction to their videos and making and scheduling new one with it in mind. This will be easier with the new tools YouTube made available recently. Called “Search Insights”, they provide more information about what people search in the YouTube app – the knowledge one can use to develop further success.
The content of Insights is exactly what you might expect. With this tool, you can learn what people search on YouTube. You can find information about search requests related to your channel or more general, unrelated, in case you want to expand topics you cover.
To enter Search Insights, you need to launch YouTube Studio on your desktop, go to the “Analytic” section, and then to “Research”. There you can find information about searches: what your viewers search, what’s searched across YouTube, and your saved searches in a separate section. For each request, there is the overall level of search on YouTube and views of your channel by this search in the recent 28 days.
With this tool, you can see which requests lead to your channel and how they perform both in absolute number and relative to others. According to it, you can choose your tags so that they gain more attention. The same is with topics you cover: if you focus on something already popular on YouTube, you can make your channel more popular (unless you miss the trend, so you may need to hurry). Of course, this should be related to your channel profile in some way.
One of the most useful tools in Search Insights is the “Content Gap”. It displays requests that are searched relatively often but return few or no results. Covering one of these may make your channel more popular.
Do you have your own channel on YouTube? Do you run it just for fun, or do you monetize it in some way? Have you ever used Search Insights, and if do, have you used it to your benefit? What do you think of it? Share it with us in the comments if you please!
