Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Expands Cloud Streaming to Personal Game Libraries
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users now have the ability to stream a selection of games they personally own through Cloud Gaming, even if those titles do not belong to the Game Pass library. This feature was first mentioned by Microsoft back in 2019 and was anticipated to be introduced alongside the rollout of Xbox Cloud Gaming, making this arrival quite significant after a lengthy wait. A recent update revealed that the company had initiated tests for this enhancement as part of a project named Project Lapland, with the goal of broadening the offerings available to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. The implementation of this feature faced challenges related to the establishment of essential infrastructure to accommodate thousands of games, rather than the limited number that currently exists within the Game Pass platform. With this new capability, subscribers to Game Pass Ultimate can now stream games they own that are playable in the cloud on multiple devices, despite not being part of the Game Pass collection. This streaming is accessible through various devices, including Samsung Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, Meta Quest, and a range of browser-compatible devices such as PCs, smartphones, and tablets. Microsoft has shared a list of 50 games that are available for streaming, which boasts some of the top-rated titles in the gaming community, including:
  • Baldur's Gate 3
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Balatro
  • Final Fantasy 14 Online
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  • and many more.
The company has also indicated that this list will expand further as they collaborate with additional game developers. A detailed view of the available games for cloud streaming can be found below, showcasing the growing options for players.
